As the IDF continues to gather reservists in preparation for a possible ground operation in Gaza, the Israeli soldiers training and preparing in southern Israel are keeping up full of motivation and faith despite the long wait before they may or may not receive the command to enter Gaza.

In the following video the soldiers are seen dancing and singing a verse from the book of Psalms 115:9: “Israel, trust in G-d! He is their help and their shield!”, the song then continues and the soldiers shout out with excitement, "We are believers, children of believers, and we have no one to rely on, other then our father in heaven!"

In the same spirit of faith and prayer the soldiers then continue to sing a song of Hanukah, the festival which will be marked at then end of this Hebrew month. The soldiers sing, thanking G-d, for all the "miracles, the redemption, the mighty deeds, for saving us, and for the wars which you waged for our ancestors in ancient days at in our days."

On Tuesday, the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee unanimously approved a request from Defense Minister Ehud Barak to increase the number of reserves soldiers called up for duty to 70,000.

On Sunday, IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz met with some of the reservists who have been called up for duty in recent days and offered them some words of advice and encouragement.

“You need to continue to take things seriously, with a high morale and cohesion, this is vital,” he said. “Add to that professionalism. In the end, fighting in urban surroundings is challenging. It will not always be easy, but the ability exists. When you go in – take a moment to look backwards once to remember why you are doing it, look at Sderot, Ofakim and the communities you do not see – and from that moment stop looking backward and look only forward. I wish you and all of us success.”
