Elbit Systems and Rockwell Collins, VSI won a new $32 million contract with Boeing to deliver helmet mounted display technology.

The project, a Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS), will provide the technology for the U.S. Navy and Air Force. It will also be supplied to Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to Finland, Australia, Belgium, Canada and Switzerland.

Deliveries are to begin this year, and continue through 2013, according to a statement issued by the two firms.

Elbit is an international defense electronics company that operates in a wide range of military an aeronautic fields. The company also focuses on the upgrading of existing military platforms and develops new defense technologies as well as commercial aviation applications.

"JHMCS, our first combat proven helmet, remains the world's leading helmet display for fixed-wing tactical aircraft,” said Phil King, president of VSI. “It is known and respected by fighter-attack pilots around the world because it enables them to maintain 'eyes out' while viewing critical information on the helmet visor.

"HHMCS gives pilots unparalleled situational awareness, providing them a significant advantage in both air-to-air and air-to-ground mission execution,” King added.
