On April 19, Marc J. Fink at Islamist Watch broke the story that the retail electronics superstore Best Buy was a “Platinum Sponsor” for a fundraising banquet for the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

CAIR grew out of the Islamic Association of Palestine, an organization that was shut down for being a Hamas front, according to FrontPage Magazine.

“The United States government named CAIR an ‘unindicted co-conspirator’ to fund the terrorist group Hamas in America’s most significant terror financing trial. The U.S. also identified CAIR as an agent of the Muslim Brotherhood, sharing the common goal of dismantling American institutions and turning the U.S. into a Sharia-compliant, Islamic state through incremental, stealth jihad,” Islamic Watch reported.

In a 2007 federal court filing, it is stated that, “From its founding by Muslim Brotherhood leaders, CAIR conspired with other affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood to support terrorists” and “the conspirators agreed to use deception to conceal from the American public their connections to terrorists.”

District Judge Jorge Solis ruled that the government provided “ample evidence” tying CAIR to Hamas to justify its designation as an “unindicted co-conspirator.”

Best Buy not only defended its donation, but boasted that their donation proves its good will and tolerance, the magazine reported.

Subsequently, RadicalIslam.org started a petition calling to boycott of the company until it rescinds its support for CAIR.

Within one day, nearly 5,000 people had signed it.

Best Buy has yet to rescind its support of the terror-based CAIR organization.
