Police detectives arrested on Thursday evening Yishai Marzel, 19-year-old son of nationalist activist Baruch Marzel, in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood of Jerusalem.

The arrest came several hours after Marzel received a restraining order, barring him from the community of Yizhar for six months. The young Marzel was one of twelve people whose homes were raided by security forces early Thursday morning and who received restraining orders by Central Command.

The twelve residents have until Saturday night to remain in Judea and Samaria, at which point the restraining orders will go into effect and they will be forced to leave the area.

In response to his son’s arrest, Baruch Marzel said it “will not help anyone. My son will continue to work for the people of Israel and will continue to believe that the entire country belongs to us.”

Earlier on Thursday evening, another restraining order was issued, this time to a minor from Jerusalem who studies in Beit El. The minor was barred for a period of three months.

The Honenu legal aid organization said in response, “These are unprecedented measures against minors who are supposed to be protected under the law.”
