Islamic Jihad’s video of a multiple missile launch represented a significant achievement except for one small problem – it was phoney, according to the IDF.

The impressive video shows four blasts, but there is no photo evidence that they came from rockets. If the video was real, it probably was taken in another country, such as Iran or Lebanon, because the IDF reported that it did not detect multiple rocket attacks.

The terrorist organization, which seems to be challenging Hamas’ dominance in Gaza, aired the video on Gaza television after Saturday’s massive and lethal barrage that killed one Israeli and wounded two dozen others.

It showed a pick-up truck with a launcher that fired four missiles at the same time.

Simultaneous launches would make it more difficult for the Iron Dome anti-rocket system to intercept all of them at once.

The Islamic Jihad, Hamas and the Palestinian Authority often issue reports that are fabricated, particularly about supposed IDF incursions and alleged arrests of Arabs, often described as those who are pregnant, mentally ill or handicapped. Conversations between Arutz Sheva and IDF spokesmen routinely conclude with a denial that the army even was in the area of the alleged actions.
