Member of Knesset Moshe "Mutz" Matalon (Yisrael Beiteinu) had sharp criticism Sunday for leaders of the "tent city" protesters against the backdrop of the attacks on southern Israel.
The disabled Israel Defense Forces veteran said, "As an onlooker and a member of both the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee and the Labor and Welfare Committee, I expected a lot more demonstratiions of solidarity by the protesters from the center of the country with the residents of the south, who have been hit by rockets and terror during the last few days."
He continued, "Unfortunately, I was unable to count even one busload of empathizers from Central Israel going down to hold the hands of the residents of the South during their unbearably difficult days."
Matalon added, "Justice is blind. Even if it is social and even if it's national, solidarity should express itself in every field. Otherwise, it's nothing more than hypocrisy and sweet talk."
