Terrorists from the Gaza Strip fired two Grad missiles at the city of Be’er Sheva late Monday evening.
The missiles exploded in an open area in the vicinity of Be’er Sheva. A siren was heard in the city and in other surrounding communities such as Lehavim, Meitar, and Omer.
Local residents reported hearing two explosions. There were no reports of physical injuries or damage.
Last Thursday, Gaza terrorists fired a Kassam rocket into Israel. The rocket exploded near a kibbutz in the Shaar HaNegev area. There were no casualties in this attack as well.
Two weeks ago, the terror attacks from Gaza neared Israel’s industrial heartland, when two Grad missiles landed near Kiryat Gat, home to a huge Intel factory. No one was injured.
In all these attacks, psychological damage, especially to young children, is not easily measurable at the time of the explosion, but therapists warn about the long term effects of the fear and anxiety engendered by the attacks. Many residents of the areas hit by rockets and missiles are in need of treatment.
Unlike previous incidents, this time the IAF immediately targeted the launch site where the terror squad which had fired the rocket was located. Military sources reported, however, that the squad members were seen fleeing the scene.
