A new IDF video shows the side of Israel that mainstream media ignore: The Israeli army helps Palestinian Authority farmers in Jenin market more than 15,000 tons of cucumbers.
The cucumber season began last week, and Samir Muadi, Agricultural Coordinator for the IDF's Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria, explains that the IDF has relaxed security fence crossing procedures to accommodate farmers.
The best time to transfer the produce from PA to Israeli trucks is after 5 p.m., when the hottest hours of the day have passed. Hours at the crossing are being extended to help the transfer of the cucumbers, after a security check.
“Our job has a mission to help the Palestinian side,” Muadi says. “I think we can see the results. There are mutual understandings between the Israelis and Palestinians."
