A pre-Purim poll by the Geocartographia Institute has revealed that if Jewish Israelis were able to dress up as any political figure for the upcoming holiday, more than 40 percent of them would choose Yisrael Beiteinu head Avigdor Lieberman. United States President Barack Obama came in a distant second, with 20.9 percent of Israelis saying they would prefer an Obama costume.

Other popular choices included Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, opposition leader Tzipi Livni, Yisrael Beiteinu MK Anastasia Michaeli, and Netanyahu's wife, Sarah.

Lieberman and Michaeli were most popular among immigrants to Israel. Israelis over the age of 55 preferred to dress up as Netanyahu or Livni, while those under the age of 34 said their costume of choice would be inspired by Obama or Lieberman.

Michaeli was also a popular costume choice among parents. The MK made history when she gave birth to her eighth child in July 2009, becoming the first incumbent MK to give birth. More than 13 percent of parents said they would like to dress up as Michaeli, while only 8.3 percent of those without children said the same.

Almost six percent of second-generation Israelis said they would most like to dress up as Arab nationalist MK Ahmed Tibi.
