Three Givati Brigade soldiers were wounded shortly after 5:00 p.m. in a suicide attack by 57-year-old Fatma Omar An-Najar, who detonated the black explosives belt strapped to her body when her attempt to reach the soldiers failed.

The troops blocked the attack by throwing a stun grenade at the Hamas terrorist, a mother of nine and grandmother of some 30. The soldiers were injured by the flying shrapnel from the explosion.

Soldiers received an intelligence warning earlier in the day about an impending suicide attack. A Hamas video was later shown of the woman bragging of her plans to carry out the attack, and dedicating her death to the terrorist prisoners, Hamas and Hamas leader Muhammed Haniye.

A total of seven terrorists were killed Thursday in IDF military operations aimed at preventing ongoing Kassam rocket attacks. Seven soldiers were injured in several terrorist anti-tank missile attacks. One soldier was evacuated in moderate condition to Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva.
