During the night, about nine drug smuggling incidents took place that included massive firing of smuggling squads towards Israeli territory on the Egyptian border.
An IDF spokesman said that IDF fighters identified the firing squads and opened fire back at the sources of the shooting in order to thwart the smuggling.The forces thwarted the smuggling and seized about 400 kg of drugs with an estimated value of about NIS 8,000,000.
As a result of misidentification, two border fighters were lightly wounded by our forces. The incident is being investigated.
