Two Israelis who were traveling on Route 90 in a Hyundai vehicle, to which a motorcycle was hitched, pulled in at a rest stop over Shabbat.
The driver of the car went into a nearby shop when a suspect entered the vehicle and began driving towards Jericho. The second passenger was injured escaping the vehicle and needed medical attention.
The Israel Police and IDF have begun efforts to locate the suspect and vehicle.
