Economy Minister Naftali Bennett reached out to former President Yitzhak Navon after hearing this morning's (Tuesday) news that Navon had signed to receive an honorary place on the Labor-Hatnua list while attending an event at Sapir College.
"I appeal to Yitzhak Navon, a former president whom I value, to not add your name to this alliance," Bennett pleaded.
"Do not put your name beside Merav Michaeli who wants mothers to tell their children to not go to the IDF until the 'occupation' is ended, or beside Yossi Yonah who wants Nakba Day to be combined with Holocaust Remembrance Day. Do not put yourself next to a party who doesn't want our national anthem to be played because it speaks of a 'racist state that is only for Jews', or by Zuhair Bahlul, who identifies more with Palestinians than Israel," Bennet said.
"This is not a 'zionist Camp', nor is it Zionism. Do not place your name on a list that opposes Zionism," Bennett emphasized.
