A 50-year-old man was seriously injured on Wednesday morning in a terrorist attack at Okfim Junction, near Kiryat Arba.
An initial investigation found a terrorist shot at an Israeli vehicle and then attacked the driver and stabbed him in the hand and head.
Magen David Adom paramedics provided the man with medical treatment and then evacuated him to Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem, conscious, with stab wounds to his upper body.
Shaare Zedek informed that the injured person was brought to the trauma unit at the medical center about an hour ago. He is in moderate and stable condition. After an initial assessment and imaging tests, he was taken to the operating room.
MDA EMT Eli Gertner and MDA paramedics Yaira Vangush and Netanel Yamin said, “When we arrived on the scene we saw an Israeli car and nearby it a conscious 50-year-old man, who suffered from stab wounds on his upper body, and two young women who were in the car with him, without injuries.”
“We gave the male lifesaving medical treatment and evacuated him to the hospital while he was conscious and in serious condition.”
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said, “A short while ago, a terrorist armed with a pistol arrived in his vehicle at the Okfim Route and opened fire at an Israeli civilian at the scene. Afterward, the terrorist exited his vehicle and stabbed the civilian.”
“IDF soldiers are pursuing the terrorist who fled the scene, and blocking routes in the area.”
