A protest demonstration by pilots who oppose the judicial reform being promoted by the government was held outside the home of Education Minister Yoav Kisch of the Likud Party.

Kisch served as a combat pilot in the Israel Air Force. Following his release from the IDF, he flew as a pilot for El-Al Boeing 777 until he entered politics.

Channel 12 News reported on Wednesday that the minister was also criticized by former members of his squadron and subsequently left the WhatsApp group of which he was a member with them.

One of Kisch’s friends from flight course number 118 wrote in the group that, about a month and a half ago, Kisch asked the members of the group "not to be stressed by the reports in the media and wait to see what happens."

Some of the members even wished Kisch success at the time, the pilot said, but as soon as he voted for the reform, he hurt all his friends.

"Kisch voted in favor of the dictatorship laws that will harm each and every one of us in a critical way. In the economy, in security, in basic rights, in equality, in freedom and in the legitimacy of Israel in the world."

Several other members of the group expressed disappointment with Minister Kisch. "This is the time to fight Kisch and his allies with all our might. They chose to destroy this country out of personal interests and momentary opportunism," another member wrote.
