Since the early hours of Thursday morning, left-wing protesters have been gathering outside the home of Justice Minister Yariv Levin in the central city of Modi'in.

Many of the protesters are holding placards reading, "No to legal reform, no to a police state," "Levin will end up at The Hague" (in reference to the International Court of Justice), and "The same happened in the 1930s."

The protesters issued a statement saying, "This demonstration is payback for the despicable night-time harassment of former Supreme Court President Aharon Barak outside his home last night, by supporters of criminal defendant Netanyahu."

According to them, "The days are over when a band of thugs hired by this criminal defendant [Netanyahu] can terrorize the streets without an appropriate response. The members of this criminal government will be meeting up with us very soon."

Addressing Justice Minister Levin, they added, "We won't give you a moment's peace. We'll pursue you wherever you go, until you get your filthy hands off the judiciary."

Yesterday saw a small number of Likud activists demonstrating outside the home of former Court President Barak in Tel Aviv, following comments he made condemning the current government's plans to reform the judicial system.
