American Ambassador to Israel David Friedman and his wife, Tammy, helped package food for needy families at a Chabad charity in Jerusalem earlier this week.

The Friedmans were accompanied by dozens of employees of the US embassy in Jerusalem who volunteered to lend a hand at the Pantry Packers charity, run by the Colel Chabad organization in the capital.

“Tammy and I joined 40 Embassy volunteers today at Pantry Packers, an amazing charitable venture of Colel Chabad, which provides healthy nutrition (whole wheat pasta in the picture) to 8500 families in Israel of all races and religions. An inspiring effort!”

According to the organization’s website, Pantry Packers is the “food distribution arm of” the Colel Chabad organization, “the oldest continuously operating network of social services in Israel, established in 1788.”
