Nechama Holtzman, a mother of four who lived in Jerusalem, on Tuesday celebrated her fortieth birthday with her husband at a Ramat Gan restaurant.
According to the Hebrew-language newspaper Yediot Aharonot, Nechama choked on her steak, and was transferred in severe condition to the hospital. During the early hours of Wednesday morning, doctors were forced to declare her death.
"Nechama was a good woman, she did so much kindness, she suffered so much in her life. All of her suffering came to an end last night."
The couple has three little girls, and Nechama has an older daughter from her previous marriage.
"This was a haredi couple who came specially from Jerusalem, because we are strictly kosher," the restaurant owner said.
