At least 100 people attended a funeral on Wednesday - for a 93 year-old Holocaust survivor they had never met.
Former banker Rachel Steinmetz wrote Facebook posts and Tweets asking for help from the public Wednesday morning, after realizing that the deceased was en route for burial from New York to Israel and had no surviving relatives.
Hundreds of people shared the post; about 100 attended the funeral in Beit Shemesh.
Steinmetz thanked the visitors for showing, saying it was "only in Israel" that so many people would show up on short notice.
