Report: 2 Israelis with COVID arrested while fleeing quarantine in Crete

Suspects arrested at airport on Greek island while attempting to flee isolation requirement after testing positive for COVID.

Greek media reported Tuesday evening that two Israelis traveling in Crete who were infected with the coronavirus were arrested after they tried to escape quarantine.

The two were exposed to a verified coronavirus patient and received tests which came back positive. Despite this, they tried to escape from the Greek island and were caught at the airport by the local police and sent to a quarantine motel.

No further details have been released on the circumstances of the incident.
