The speech by Palestinian Authority foreign minister Riyad al-Maliki at the United Nations online conference Monday was interrupted by Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan, who was preparing for his own speech and did not realize that his microphone was on.

Further glitches occurred during Erdan's speech, which followed al-Maliki's.

A spokesman for the Israeli delegation to the UN said in response: The broadcast of Ambassador Erdan's speech at the Security Council encounters technical problems arising from the UN broadcasting interface.

Council members heard his remarks throughout his speech but due to a technical glitch in the interface, the video did not work. The president of the council, Russia's ambassador to the UN, apologized to Ambassador Erdan at the end of the debate.
