Israeli President Reuven Rivlin met Wednesday morning with Health Minister Yuli Edelstein Likud) and Health Ministry Director-General Professor Hezi Levi, and received a comprehensive briefing on the current efforts to halt the spread of coronavirus.
The Health Minister and Director-General briefed the President on the current Ministry figures regarding the numbers of coronavirus patients and their welfare, as well as on the efforts to halt the spread of coronavirus where the disease is most prevalent.
Rivlin thanked them and the medical teams for their efforts, and stressed that the President's Residence was at the Ministry's disposal for whatever might be required, expressing confidence that Israel will get through this tough period together.
Edelstein thanked Rivlin for the opportunity to meet, and noted that the virus is reaching all parts of the world, without distinction. He also said that the situation of those contracting the disease is deeply concerning, from all perspectives.
Eidelstein noted, however, that he is encouraged by the cooperation between all of Israel's health and rescue bodies.
