השגריר דרור אידר התקין מזוזה: "מתגעגע לישראל"

Israel’s Ambassador to Italy, Dr. Dror Eydar, has in recent days moved to the new ambassador's residence in Rome, the capital of Italy.

Eydar wrote on his Twitter account that he is currently affixing mezuzahs in the new home.

“Lots of mezuzahs to affix. I am doing so gradually. Even tonight," he wrote.

“’Write them on the doorposts of your houses and gates,’” continued Eydar. “I miss Israel. I hope to succeed in visiting my children in Israel, because the longing for them overwhelms me (it’s been almost half a year!). Greetings from Rome!”

Dr. Eydar, a researcher and expert in Hebrew and comparative literature, worked as a publicist for the Israel Hayom newspaper and edited the newspaper's opinion section before being appointed an ambassador.

In September 2018, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu decided to appoint Eydar as Israel's Ambassador to Italy. He took office in September 2019.
