British police confirmed Sunday that a stabbing which left multiple dead in Reading was a terrorist attack.

The suspect in the stabbing is a 25-year-old Libyan asylum seeker who had previously been imprisoned for a 'minor violent offense,' Sky News reported.

Three people were murdered and another three were seriously wounded in the stabbing Saturday, which occurred at Forbury Gardens in Reading during a Black Lives Matter protest.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson met with security officials Sunday to discuss the attack.

Officers from Counter Terrorism Policing South East, who had been called to assist the Thames Valley Police following the stabbing, later took over the investigation.
