Okay, once the 2019/20 Premier League football season restarts, it’s safe to say that you don’t need to be a genius to figure out that Liverpool will indeed finally be crowned champions.

In a season that has sadly been marred by the global pandemic that has brought all live sports to a standstill, before that, Liverpool were on fire and under Jurgen Klopp, were playing the best football we’d seen from them in years.

Even Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, last year’s champions, looked decidedly average against Liverpool, and with only a few games remaining, one glance at the table can provide a rough idea about how the season will play out.

Like most people lately, we want to put the unpleasantness of the pandemic behind us and look forward, which is why, despite the 2019/20 season not yet complete, we’re going to fast-forward and look to the 2020/21 EPL football season.

Here are 4 teams to watch next season.

Manchester United

Since Sir Alex Fergusson left the Red Devils, it’s safe to say that they have looked nowhere near as dominant or as talented as they looked under the talented Scot.

Despite football being played on the pitch, having the right manager can literally make all of the difference when dictating a team’s success rates, and that’s where United struggled.

They went from David Moyes and Luis Van Gaal, who themselves were hugely talented managers, to the ‘Special One’ Jose Mourinho, yet none of them could get the players to perform.

Then, along came United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and United looked to be invigorated.

With Martial and Rashford now finding their form and their confidence, and Bruno Fernandes now finding his form, Man Utd are expected to be pushing for a top 4 finish next season.

Sheffield United

It’s safe to say that northern clubs in the EPL are often overlooked in favour of clubs from down south, but when you consider the things that Chris Wilder has done for the Blades in such a short period of time, it’s impossible to overlook them.

At the start of the season, Sheff Utd were tipped as favourites to be relegated back to the Championship.

Boy, did they prove the haters wrong.

Sheffield United have looked dominant in the EPL and have held their own against some of the EPL giants. The fact that they are pushing for a 4th place finish this season says it all really.

Next season, expect big things from Chris Wilder’s Blades.

Tottenham

Since Jose Mourinho took over at Spurs a few months back, the side have looked invigorated.

Okay, they haven’t been dominant, but they have played aggressive football and if the backroom staff let Jose do what he does best, a top 4 finish for Spurs will certainly not be out of the question.

Leicester City

When Leicester City won the title a few years ago, it was one of the greatest seasons in English football.

Leicester were underdogs from the start, yet they played as a team and were managed brilliantly by Caludio Ranieri, who guided them to the title.

Sadly, the club sacked him for reasons we’re still not quite sure of, and Leicester struggled.

This season, with Vardy back on form, they looked like title contenders for a while, and with Brendan Rogers at the helm, we predict big things for the Foxes next season.
