Health Minister Yuli Edelstein today toured Maayanei Hayeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak, accompanied by Deputy Minister Yoav Kish, Finance Committee Chairman MK Moshe Gafni, Hospital Director Shlomo Rothschild and Medical Director Prof. Moti Ravid.

Earlier, the minister visited the Maccabi Kupat Cholim clinic in the city and met with Maccabi Director Ran Sa'ar. From the hospital, the minister continued to tour the Bnei Brak municipality.

At the hospital, the minister toured the ICU and the mental health department, where he also played ping-pong with one of the department's patients, the "Green House" at the hospital, and other departments. Nursing Director Sharon Eiser gave the minister ancient surgical tools found in archeological excavations in Israel, dating from the 1st to 3rd centuries CE.

During the tour, Gafni told Minister Edelstein, "An injustice was done to the haredi public by closing down Bnei Brak. This created the wrong image. The haredi concentrations keep Health Ministry guidelines.

"I ask you, Minister Edelstein, within the scope of your ability: Remove this stigma from the haredi public, it simply isn't true. I invite you to tour and see the strict observance by the haredi public according to the rabbis instruction to follow Health Ministry guidelines," Gafni added.
