After epidemiological testing by the Health Ministry revealed that Joint Arab List MK Samy Abu Shahadeh had been infected with the coronavirus, four additional party MKs - Mtanes Shihadeh, Aida Touma-Sliman, Heba Yazbak, and Ayman Odeh - were asked to self-quarantine.

Two faction heads and four individuals who visited MK Abu Shahadeh's office over the past few weeks have also been asked to enter a period of home isolation.

The Ministry of Health contacted the aforementioned individuals to notify them of the findings.

MK Samy Abu Shahadeh, who tested positive for coronavirus last Thursday, stated that he had visited numerous locations, coming in contact with "thousands of people at funeral processions, family events, and demonstrations, along with Knesset forums, as well as the mourning tent of Iyad al-Halak (an autistic Palestinian Authority man - ed.) in Jerusalem," over the previous few days.

As part of his work, Abu Shahadeh participated in various government functions including "committees, plenary discussions and even the cafeteria," according to his own testimony.
