Families on Jerusalem's Ben Tabai Street, for whom school and work were canceled, 'celebrate' their country with a classic song.

"Next year we will sit on our porch

And count the migrating birds

Children on holiday will play tag

Between the houses and fields

Refrain: You will see, you will see

Just how good things will be

Bashana, Bashana haba'a. - When next year, when next year arrives."

The song, first performed in 1970 by the duo Ilan and Ilanit, was written by Ehud Manor and set to music by Nurit Hirsch, all Isaeli music icons. It became an instant hit.
