Israel Railways will close the Beit Shemesh train line over the weekend for work on the infrastructure as well as changing and upgrade the railroad switch - the part of the track on which trains can move from one track to the other.

In addition, the old track will be taken apart and 150 meters (492 feet) of new track will be laid. The work will be done by a team of engineers, engineering equipment specialists, communications and signals professionals, and infrastructure teams, as well as heavy track equipment from Israel Railways.

As part of the infrastructure work, there will be changes in the schedule of the Jerusalem-Beit Shemesh train line.

The schedule changes will last Wednesday, November 20, at 10:00p.m., until Friday, November 22, at 5:00a.m.

On Wednesday, November 20, the trains from Netanya/Herzliya will end their southbound travel at Lod.

On Thursday, the trains from Netanya/Herzliya will end their southbound travel at Ramle, and trains on the Jerusalem-Beit Shemesh line will not run. The Beit Shemesh, Jerusalem Malcha and Jerusalem Zoo train stations will be closed to rail traffic.

On Friday, the Lod-Beit Shemesh-Jerusalem Malcha train line will not run, and Jerusalem-Malcha, Jerusalem-Zoo, and Beit Shemesh will be closed to rail traffic.

On Saturday, the Tel Aviv Savidor Center-Beit Shemesh-Jerusalem Malcha line will not run. Jerusalem Malcha, Jerusalem Zoo, and Beit Shemesh will be closed to rail traffic.

The Transportation Ministry will add additional buses to the lines running in the area, and Israel Railways will offer travelers free minibus services between the Ramle-Lod-Beit Shemesh train stations during the days the train stations are not operating.

The trains will resume operating as usual on Sunday, November 24, at 5:00a.m.
