MK Ayelet Shaked (New Right) on Saturday night responded to the recent rocket attacks on southern Israel.

"The insane reality which children in the Gaza border region and Sderot are experiencing is untenable," she said. "In what other country would they be willing to accept rocket fire as a matter of routine, with tens of thousands of people serving as hostages of a terror organization which fires at them and stops firing at them at whim?"

"It's time to deal with the root of the problem in Gaza in order to ensure that sights like this will never be seen again, not in the south and not in any other place in the State of Israel."

MK Naftali Bennett, also of the New Right party, said: "Israel is in a state of national emergency. We cannot continue to push off the necessary actions to deal with the root problem in Gaza, while at the same time we stop Iran from creating a ring of rockets around Israel."

"Israel cannot allow itself to hold a third round of elections. This would paralyze us and prevent urgent security and civil activities. Everyone - both [PM Binyamin] Netanyahu and [Blue and White Chairman MK Benny] Gantz - must compromise and create a government as soon as possible.

"We in the New Right will do everything possible in order to create a unity government and prevent elections."

Likud's MK Gideon Sa'ar said: "There should be a much more severe response than has been taken to the rocket fire on Sderot, and the attack on its residents. Israel's goal should be the dismantling of the military infrastructure of Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza."

"This is one of the important reasons why the political crisis must be ended as soon as possible, and a broad national unity government be established," he wrote.
