During negotiations talks between Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Blue and White Chairman MK Benny Gantz, Netanyahu spoke about the political benefits of Gantz agreeing to join the right-wing bloc in forming a government.

According to News 13 reports, Netanyahu told Gantz, "Don't drag your feet and count on me being replaced. In the end we'll hold new elections and you'll be replaced."

On Thursday, Gantz spoke about the efforts to form a government, saying that he is "determined to form a government and not hold new elections."

"I am determined that we will achieve the goals which we gathered here to achieve. I did not come in order to be anyone's contractor or a surplus item in a bloc government.

"Unfortunately, it may be that due to some of the parties' refusal to sit with us, we will end up holding [another round of] new elections."
