The gloom and doom industry, in cooperation with unknown intelligence officials and their representatives in the media, has been active for several days. This time following President Trump's decision to remove US soldiers from Syria.

The (non-)opposition speakers immediately accuse Netanyahu of responsibility for President Trump's decision. For them, all the impressive achievements the State has reached in recent decades are the result of an invisible hand and chance, and everything perceived by the Left as problematic is the responsibility of Netanyahu, Katz, Kahlon, and the right-wing government.

In their view, Trump's decisions about strategic cooperation with Israel, the transfer of the embassy to Jerusalem, UN backing, intensifying sanctions against Iran, and efforts to bring the countries of the region together are negligible and unimportant. On the other hand, the decision to leave Syria is presented as Apocalypse Now. The Israeli Left's longings for Barack Obama are far more intense than those of American citizens.

After two thousand years of exile when we were trampled, we returned to the pages of history, a phenomenon unparalleled in human history. Pioneers, survivors of the Holocaust, and new immigrants from all over the world have established a glorious country. A small country surrounded by enemies that over the years has become a world power. Generations have longed for the day when our fate would be in our hands. Prayers and hopes have come true today.

Israel can defend itself and does not need the favors of foreigners. We are no longer dhimmis who have to bend down before every breeze. It is possible that in the near future there will be more disagreements with Trump and his administration, but a determined Israeli leadership will ensure that a foreign government cannot impose dictates that could harm state security.

The US withdrawal from Syria does not affect Israel's ability to deal with aggression from any source. It would have been preferable for US soldiers to continue operating in Syria, but we got along well with the Syrian threat before the US got there. There's no reason to frighten citizens of Israel that the US withdrawal from Syria endangers Israel. A strong IDF is the guarantee of security and victory.
