The national and Islamic forces in the Jerusalem area, the supreme coordinating body of Palestinian Arab organizations, called for the boycott of Israeli shopping centers.

The group stated that buying products in Israeli shopping centers is tantamount to giving money to the 'occupation' and helping to Judaize the city of 'Al-Quds' (the Arabic name for Jerusalem).

The organizations launched a campaign to raise the awareness of Arab residents of Jerusalem of the importance of the boycott against Israel on the eve of the opening of Rami Levi's new commercial center near the Qalandiya checkpoint in northern Jerusalem.

The organizations also stated that "economic normalization" with Israel is a "betrayal" of the Palestinian Arab people and helps to destroy the Palestinian Authority's economy.
