Gunfire struck a caravan in the Nitzana youth village in southern Israel, near the border with Egypt on Thursday, the IDF said.

The apparently stray shots damaged the caravan, but caused no injuries.

An IDF spokesperson said Israel was concerned by the ‘serious’ incident, and would probe the circumstances of the shooting.

Army officials say the shots were likely fired by Egyptian army forces during a training exercise.
