The IDF Spokesman today appointed an advisory committee to determine working procedures between the IDF Spokesman's Division and correspondents covering military matters.

The committee was set up to formulate recommendations on criteria by which the IDF Spokesman would provide a response to media and reporters covering military matters.

The committee will be responsible, among other things, to answer claims in Supreme Court petitions regarding how important membership in the military correspondents' cell is to the response received by the IDF Spokesman, and to strengthen transparency and fairness in the relationship between the IDF Spokesman and reporters covering military affairs.

The committee will be headed by retired Judge Ayala Procaccia and its members will be Maj. Gen. (res.) Yossi Baidatz, journalist Dan Margalit, Dr. Tehila Schwartz Altshuler, and former Defense Ministry Spokesman Ofer Harel.

The committee is expected to submit recommendations to the IDF Spokesman within six months, and has been authorized to invite any person or representative of any entity to assist in its work.
