26-year-old Californian Nicholas Wesley Rose was arrested and charged with hate crimes after he was found with a "liquidation list" of area Jewish community members and anti-Semitic literature.

His arrest took place after a family member told police last Monday that Rose had allegedly expressed a desire to kill Jews. Rose's hit list included Jewish celebrities, among them in the Hollywood entertainment industry.

In addition to the assassination list police found an article Rose authored entitled "My First Jewish Kill" and also documents mentioning three possible targets: the Beit Yaakov Synagogue, the Greek Orthodox Church of Paul in Irvine, and the Orthodox Church in Lake Forest.

It is estimated that both churches were on the list because of their sympathy for the Jewish community.

A court hearing for Rose will take place on April 27 and if convicted of all charges against him, he will be sentenced to six-and-a-half years' imprisonment.
