On Thursday, just after Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Day, a "swearing-in" ceremony was held for new haredi IDF soldiers at the Western Wall.

The new soldiers drafted into the IDF's Netzah Yehuda battalion.

Prior to the ceremony, they participated in a remembrance march together with Holocaust survivors and soldiers in the IDF's Kfir Brigade. Afterwards, they arrived at the Western Wall to say a special prayer prior to the ceremony.

The prayer read: "For the sake of...G-d, with mercy and with fear, I hereby prepare myself to be courageous and strong for our nation... May it be Your will, L-rd our G-d and G-d of our fathers, that every drop of sweat and effort that I will do, with y spirit and my body, will be to Your satisfaction, and that we will merit to do this truly and with a whole heart."

Netzah Yehuda rabbis, who accompany the soldiers throughout their service, said in a statement: "On Holocaust Day, we pray for the memories and the souls of six million Jews who were murdered in Europe. Today, our soldiers merited to walk the streets of Jerusalem together with Holocaust survivors. These haredi soldiers are serving in the IDF, while stringently keeping to their haredi lifestyle. They are proof of the Jewish People's spiritual victory."

"With G-d's help, seventy years after the war ended, we have merited to see with our own eyes the rebuilding of the yeshiva world, which, together with our soldiers on the front lines, will ensure that another such Holocaust will never happen again."
