Residents of Brooklyn's predominantly Orthodox Borough Park neighborhood on Wednesday found swastikas scratched onto their cars, local police reported.

According to the report, vandals scratched the symbol on at least two cars.

Borough Park is home to a large haredi community.

According to the New York Daily News, the swastikas seemed to be drawn on the vehicles, but refused to wash off.

“My car is brand new. I took it to…try and get it cleaned at the best car wash, but it wouldn’t come off,” the victim told the New York Daily News.

The New York Post quoted a neighbor of the victims who said, “We trust that the police will find who did it. We’re a close community and we’re not going to tolerate this one bit.”

“We’re working with cops to give them any surveillance video or information they might need.”
