A woman's body was pulled from an apartment fire on Ra'anan Street in Haifa on Monday morning.

Firefighters extracted the body from the apartment and evacuated another three people who suffered light injuries.

United Hatzalah EMS volunteer first responders said that the woman's death was pronounced at the scene due to the injuries she sustained, which included severe burns and smoke inhalation.

United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Tzvika Popper described the scene: "When I arrived at the scene I saw an apartment on the ground floor that was burning. A passerby said that there was a woman trapped in the apartment."

"Fire and Rescue Department workers evacuated the woman who was already lifeless. Sadly her death was pronounced at the scene. We also treated the three other people who were lightly injured and who lived in nearby apartments for smoke inhalation after they were evacuated by the Fire and Rescue Department.
