ערבים מתקינים מצלמות בצומת שילה

One of the main security components used by the IDF on the roads of Judea and Samaria is a complex network of security cameras scattered around the various roads and intersections. The array includes real cameras, dummy cameras, and hidden cameras.

Channel 2 News this evening reported that Arab PA resident workers who do not undergo security vetting by various field security officials in the Defense Ministry and the Shin Bet have access to the camera network.

In fact, workers who are not allowed to be exposed to sensitive security information may have information about where dummy cameras, hidden cameras, and real cameras are installed - their number, their quality, and the system's capabilities.

Following information reported by Judea and Samaria residents to the Lavi organization, researchers documented Arab Hevron residents working on building the network.

"This is a life-threatening lapse; it is a serious blow to the resident's security resulting from negligent behavior. We call on senior Defense Ministry officials to act immediately to fix the breach and to prevent life-threatening leakage of classified information to hostile elements," says Lavi.

"We demand an urgent investigation of all elements exposed to the camera array and to verify whether classified information has already been diverted into hostile hands and/or to entities not authorized to be exposed to sensitive information. It is still possible to stop the next murder attack planned at this moment and based on the sensitive information that may have been leaked," they added.
