A woman of about 39 years old was injured on Wednesday morning when her car collided with a truck carrying metal bars.

The collision occurred in the northern city of Kiryat Yam.

Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics administered first aid and transferred the woman to Haifa's Rambam Hospital with injuries to her upper body,

By miracle, the metal bars which entered her vehicle's windshield stopped just before they hit the empty car seat in the vehicle's back row.

Senior MDA paramedic Abrahim Kaabiya said, "When we arrived at the scene, the driver was alone in her vehicle, trapped in the driver's seat. It was a real miracle that she survived. The metal bars broke her car's windshield and penetrated the car all around her."

"Working together with the firefighters, we extracted the woman from her vehicle and transferred her to the hospital with light injuries. We were told she had just dropped her children off at their schools. If the children had been in the vehicle, this collision would have ended tragically."
