Malicious rumors about the death of MK Nachman Shai (Zionist Union) were distributed on Sunday in WhatsApp groups affiliated with haredi journalists.

MK Shai, who served as the IDF Spokesperson during the 1991 Gulf War, quickly denied the rumors and made clear that he is alive and well.

"Thanks to all those who are concerned. I'm fine,” Shai tweeted. In an interview later with Channel 10 News, the MK said he had tried to find out who was the source of the rumor but was unsuccessful.

"This is simply wickedness, in which the internet excels. I personally learned this today," MK Shai said.

Meanwhile, Shai's colleague from the Zionist Union, MK Ayelet Nahmias Verbin, posted a video on her Twitter account showing MK Shai dancing at a wedding on Sunday evening.

"Look at how alive Nachman Shai is, now at the Bar Mitzvah of the son of Anat Marciano, director of the bureau of the chairman of the Zionist Union," wrote Nahmias Verbin.
