Minister of Tourism Yariv Levin (Likud) responded today (Tuesday) to the Supreme Court's decision to boycott the state ceremony marking the fiftieth anniversary of Judea and Samarian settlement.

In his response, Levin emphasized the fact that the Chief Justice's directive was published in a letter responding to a request made by MK Issawi Freij of Meretz.

"This is proof that Leftist radicals rule the Supreme Court and that the judges work for MK Issawi Freij," Levin said.

In response to Minister Levin's remarks, Leftist Peace Now organization tweeted: "Levin is insolent (a chutzpan), there is no boycott here, it is not a state ceremony.

"This is a political event whose sole purpose is to praise the settlement enterprise, and the judiciary must not take part in such an event," Peace Now added.

The ceremony, however, is an official government event.
