3-year-old seriously injured at Beitar construction site

A young girl was seriously injured at a construction site in Beitar Illit on Thursday.

The girl, who is estimated to be three years old, fell into a pit at a construction site in the haredi city south of the capital.

City officials were altered after the girl fell into the pit, and dispatched a rescue team which managed to extract her from the pit.

The child was injured by the fall, and MDA emergency first responders were called to the scene to provide first aid.

An MDA team treated the girl, then evacuated her to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem. She has been listed in serious condition.

Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
