מזל טוב! יו"ר הקואליציה חיתן את בתו

Coalition Chairman David Bitan's (Likud) daughter Galit on Wednesday evening married her chosen husband Hagai Shpitz, in an event hall in the central city of Rishon Lezion.

Participating in the vent were politicians from most of the Knesset's factions. Among the guests were Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz (Likud), Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon (Kulanu), Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel (Jewish Home), MK Gila Gamliel (Likud), Health Minister Yakov Litzman (UTJ), Knesset Speaker Yuli (Yoel) Edelstein (Likud), Deputy Defense Minister Eli Ben-Dahan (Jewish Home), Opposition Chairman Yitzhak Herzog (Zionist Union), and MKs Merav Michaeli (Zionist Union), Hilik Bar (Zionist Union), Elie Elalouf (Kulanu), and Nissan Slomiansky (Jewish Home).

Sephardic Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef conducted the marriage ceremony.

Returning from his meeting abroad with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu arrived at the wedding and delivered a speech honoring both Bitan and the new couple.

Speaking to the young couple, Netanyahu said, "I want to bless you with a happy relationship, peace in your home, and may you have everything which is good."

Turning to the audience, Netanyahu said, "With your permission, I would like to say something to my friend David [Bitan]. And I ask that you all listen to what I'm about to say. I decided....to recommend David to be Coalition Chairman two years ago. I knew him - we've known each other for a few decades - but I didn't know how too well. And still, I had this feeling that he would make an excellent coalition chairman."

"But he surprised me. He's even more excellent than I thought he would be. He does absolutely amazing work."
