A 33-year-old woman was miraculously spared serious injury when she collided with a jogger on the Putney Bridge in west London - narrowly avoiding the wheels of an oncoming bus.

In CCTV footage released by police of the incident, which occurred at 7:40 am on May 5, a passing jogger appears to knock the woman into the road, where an oncoming bus avoids hitting her at the last second by swerving into an adjacent lane.

According to Investigating Officer Mat Knowles, “The victim was put in extreme danger when she was knocked into the road. It was only due to the superb quick reactions of the bus driver that she was not hit by the vehicle."

"We are keen to speak to the jogger in the CCTV about what happened that morning. We would urge him or anyone who recognizes him to get in touch with us as soon as possible."

The woman sustained minor injuries from the incident and, after the bus came to a halt, passengers tended to the woman.

Police said that, although the woman tried speaking to the jogger, who returned around 15 minutes later to jog across the bridge in the opposite direction, “"he did not acknowledge her” and continued running.
