An IDF soldier collapsed during routine training in the southern part of the country.
The soldier was evacuated by helicopter to the hospital. His condition was defined as serious.
A notice was given to the soldier's family.
The soldier received initial medical treatment by a paramedic in the field and was evacuated for continued medical treatment at the hospital when his condition was defined as serious. The IDF Spokesperson's Office said that the soldier's family had been notified and that the circumstances of the incident would be examined.
The incident joins a list of similar ones in the IDF recently. In May of last year, a soldier collapsed during physical activity in the Tel Aviv area.
In March 2016, Private Yehuda Suissa, a 19-year-old fighter in the Givati Brigade, died after collapsing during physical activity at the Givati Brigade's training base.
The collapse took place while Suissa and his friends were running as part of a combat fitness test. During the run he collapsed and, after resuscitation attempts failed, he was pronounced dead.
