Education Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) is the most popular Israeli politician after Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu (Likud), a new study found.

The study, which was carried out by 'Buzzilla,' said that the most popular politician is Netanyahu, who has 2,137,370 followers on Facebook and 1,005,000 on Twitter.

They survey, which was reported on by Channel 2, also determined that Netanyahu leads with most amount of posts and tweets.

Following Netanyahu was Bennett, with 425,087 followers on Facebook and 139,000 on Twitter, and then Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid) with 410,266 Facebook followers and 69,003 Twitter followers. Culture and Sport Minister Miri Regev (Likud) followed, with Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu) a distant fifth.

The survey also found that Bennett's supporters on social media believe that he is fit to be the next prime minister, keeps his promises, and represents the 'real right,' unlike the Likud.

To his detriment, the report said that his detractors see him as ingratiating with the left, and as one who is all talk and no action.

Bennett is a prolific Facebook user, often posting his opinions, and writing letters to the public. When Bennett and Lapid first burst unto the political map in 2013, their widespread use of social media to connect directly with the public caused many to dub them the 'new politicians.'
