PA leader Rami Hamdallah praised Palestinian Arabs’ “struggle” leading to the removal of security measures on the Temple Mount.

While touring Qalqilya on Saturday, Hamdallah said, “Our nation showed that through steadfastness, national unity, and peaceful struggle, Jerusalem will remain our eternal capital city, and the crown of the identity uniting us.”

He added: “We will not allow any change in [Jerusalem] and will not agree to any step that takes away from our sovereignty over the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. [Palestinian Arab] leadership, headed by our brother President Mahmoud Abbas, will continue diplomatic talks with the countries of the world, to encourage them to take responsibility and prevent any attempt to change the status quo in Al-Quds, and to force Israel to stop attacking worshipers, hurting Muslim feelings and portraying the conflict as a religious one.”

“I congratulate the members of our people who stand with them and those who cling to Al-Quds, the sovereign masters and owners of the house in the land who rose up to defend their city, the sites holy to them and their identity, and forced the Israeli occupation to retract its decisions and remove its aggression from the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque," Hamdallah said.
