President Reuven Rivlin eased the conditions on the release of former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert Tuesday, allowing him to travel abroad and lifting the requirement that he report to a police station twice a month.

Olmert's partial amnesty comes after his release from prison Sunday.

President Rivlin had previously rejected a request in March to pardon the former Prime Minister, who was released after serving 16 months out of a 27 month sentence for corruption.

The President noted that his granting Olmert amnesty does not exempt the former Prime Minister from fulfilling two additional conditions imposed on him by the parole board for the remainder of his sentence. The conditions were not publicly disclosed by the parole board.
